A false balance is an abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is His delight.   Proverbs 11:1

Let’s discuss Biblical Principles as it relates to God’s order in our lives. During discussion, let’s emphasize the importance of scheduling to ensure all tasks are completed and time is allotted for individual prayer and relaxation.

“How can I get my Church to understand Deaf Ministry?”

It’s so frustrating when you’re interpreting in a church and it seems you’re the only one that understands what’s going on…  No one understands why you’re there. No one understands why they shouldn’t walk in between you and the deaf audience.  Leadership can’t understand why you need a budget…

Let’s have dialogue and idea sharing about ways of getting your church on board. Before we begin this discussion, let me just tell you, they will never be on board if the pastor doesn’t have a heart for deaf ministry.

“What’s the Difference between Signing Ministry and Deaf Ministry?”

So often, we hear of churches having deaf ministries. When we visit some of these churches and ask the question, “What’s the difference between a signing ministry and a deaf ministry?” often, the question can’t be answered. There is a distinct difference between the two. 

On this blog, please list what you think those differences are. Let’s make this a healthy discussion. If you’re in a place and can’t distinguish the difference, we’re hoping some of the comments posted will bring clarity.

Please don’t list names of any specific churches, ministries, or interpreters. This discussion is solely for the purpose of building up, not tearing down.

 “Are Religious Interpreters held to the same Standards as Other Professional Interpreters?”

 I’m sure many of you have heard the term, “Oh, she’s JUST a church interpreter.”, or “He’s not a professional interpreter, he’s a religious interpreter.”  Those beliefs have had a crippling effect on religious interpreters over the years. Sadly enough, some have earned the label, but for the most part, religious interpreters are interpreting in the court room, the hospital, the class room, major conferences, for the city, state for federal government, and more. 

Fact of the matter is there should be no difference between the professional interpreter and the religious interpreter with the exception of the information being interpreted and the setting.

On the contrary, religious interpreters are held to a HIGHER standard. That standard doesn’t come from RID or NAD, but from the Lord, our God. The Holy Bible dictates our Code of Professional Conduct and Behavior.

 I’m requesting prayer from my prayer warriors who I know believe in the power of God.  That he is Jehovah Rophe the God who heals.  I have a girlfriend whom I’ve known for many, many years.  She’s had a difficult past couple of months.  She’s in her mid 30s.  About a week or so ago, she lost her vision in her right eye.  The doctors didn’t know if it was due to inflammation or MS.  She recently had an MRI and the diagnosis was MS (Multiple Sclerosis).  We know what the doctor says, but we also know what God says and he is the ultimate physician. 

 Please take the time out of your day today and lift her up in prayer.  Her name is Urvashi (sounds like Or-va-she).

 We know that God is not only the ultimate healer but he is the way out of NO way.  We know he has all power in his hand.  And we know that physician diagnosis can be wrong and that God is the ONLY one who knows what is going on.  So please prayer for her in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  Let her see his power move in this situation so that she comes out victorious and a testimony to others.

I am asking prayer for my mother who is in so much pain from rhuebella arthisis, bone decayed,and high blood pressure. She cannot walk freely as she used to. She has to go to the doctor to get shot on her hip. Please pray for her and her health and God helping her to get better.
