interpreting from English into conceptually accurate ASL?
The ability to see the layout of a message will enable
you to interpret it accurately and clearly. In this
workshop discourse will be defined and analyzed
following the ten step process developed by leading
interpreter educators. Participants will analyze a
source message in spoken English for meaning, enabling
them to prepare a target message in which the form is
appropriate and the meaning is retained. this process
has been shown to prepare interpreters to really attend
to a source message, concentrate on meaning, and
consider the component parts in depth in order to
generate an accurate and clear interpretation. |
